Welcome.

Born too late to explore the world, too early to explore space, but at the precise moment to explore the Internet, Istonautes takes its name because the name “internaute” was already taken.

The Internet is an almost infinite universe whose depths and frontiers are unexplored and constantly expanding. As an istonaut, my mission is to explore the deepest and most unexplored corners of the internet and re-emerge with stories and findings.

Istonautes is a personal project, not only to distract me from the daily grind of my corporate life, but also as a portfolio of my written work.

About myself: Pedro Zaya

“Terminally online” and impulsively curious by nature, I have the tendency of slipping into Wikipedia rabbit holes, binge watching YouTube videos about obscure topics, and falling prey to intrusive, either existential or absurd questions (no in-between) that do not leave in peace me unless answered. I might as well produce something with all the time I waste spend on the Internet.

Other stuff about me:

  • I’m currently a master’s student in communications at the Université de Montréal.
  • I studied political science at McGill University.
  • I’ve worked in foreign affairs, public affairs, event organization and open source intelligence (OSINT).
  • I’m Canadian, I lived in Peru for 11 years, and I’m fluent in French, English and Spanish.
